E-journaling appears to be the [not so] new medium for sharing thoughts, ideas, and information.
If we are to maintain high motivation levels required in the current e-savvy culture for learners, then teachers need to keep up-to-date with this learning style in order to keep students motivated to learn.
It is a way of learning that must be embedded into our teaching 'cultures' - part of the pedagogy of learning required for 21 Century learners, whether we like it or not! Students in this system will be part of our future economy and we are obliged to equip them adequately for the day they enter that economy! For some teachers, that day is still 10 away, for others it is only 5!! Who's future will they be prepared for? Yours, or their own?
Hi Myra
ReplyDeleteAsri has posted a video on her blog about the purpose of e-journals... which is the direction we are heading towards. Check it out!
Also.. from the Ulearn conference one speaker (I think it was Simon Breakspear) said that "Yes, we need to prepare learners for the future but do we know what that looks like? Do we even know what next year will look like?"
Interesting comment isn't it?!
