So as a result of this learning, my understanding of how neoliberal policy impacts on educational leaders is that the "New" Right political policies are creating "Free" market ideology that impacts on marketing, managerialism and performativity.
This is still an evolving understanding so feel free to comment on my thoughts!

ReplyDeleteOne of the outcomes of this type of Neo Liberal policy is it creates winners and losers. An example of this is National Standards. The inevitable league tables that will appear will lead to the Ghettoisation of schools. The opportunities and quality of education will vary greatly from school to school. In my opinion Neo Liberalism isn't an ethical approach to educational policy. It doesn't consider what is best for all and create outcomes that are inequitable.
I plan on exploring the link between Neo Liberal Policy and ethical policy, I am sure there is a tension.
