ONE and the SAME in my view! Leadership/teaching is about learning together; create meaning and knowledge collectively and collaboratively. It involves opportunities to come to terms with collective insights, values, beliefs, information and assumptions through open dialogue. It means coming up with shared understandings; reflecting on and making sense of work in the light of common beliefs and new information; and deciding on a path of action with these new understandings. It implies that leadership is socially constructed and culturally sensitive. It does not imply a leader/follower divide or point towards the leadership potential of just one person. The notion of teacher as leader (teacher leadership) is beginning to be better understood in academic circles. (Harris, 2003)
