2013 Personal e-learning Reflection

This year has been very up and down for me in terms of my personal e-learning.
I have really enjoyed making use of my blog... using twitter and trialing the use of "Hootsuite" to manage all my 'social media' sites in one place. This was not a free programme, yet it has given me the opportunity to keep up with them all.

I have found that my blogging has ebbed and flowed. As with the bottle neck points during the year, my postings have dropped away. I have also found that blogging is not as useful to my personal leadership growth as I'd originally hoped as my posts need to be kept applicable for a public audience. I find this dilutes my thoughts, and I may not post about some situations or events that truly puzzle me for privacy's sake!

During my class teaching time, I found that I really incorporated the blog as part of the NE class programmes... however, I did find that this was more as a communication vehicle, than as a real tool for the learners in my class. Unfortunately  my own momentum has halted as I am no longer the class teacher. I often wonder how far I would be able to take this as the class teacher. I notice that my teacher colleagues seem to develop skills and passions for certain aspects of e-tools quicker than I do and I wonder that their opportunity for application of new skills certainly enhances this.

I have recently begun exploring the use of "Infographics" and wonder how I can learn about this e-tool that seems to be storming the world of the internet recently.

I look forward to further investigations in this area.
