Happiness

Today we watched a "TED" video focused on happiness. The thing that struck me (Besides how fast he speaks!) was that old idea that you are in control of your own happiness moods! This guy actually studied 'happiness' and found that out. It it true. My mum always told me that, but now a Harvard Graduate has proven it!

Well worth the 15 minutes or so, a very fast paced talk on how happiness can impact on learning and relating this to learning in the class.

What comes to mind is the old quote from Chaim Ginott ... I am the decisive element in the classroom, it is my personal approach that creates the climate. It's my daily mood that makes the weather. As the teacher I possess a tremendous power to make a child's day miserable or joyous...

I choose to make my OWN day joyous, therefore, hopefully this will rub off on the people/children around me and promote a feeling of happiness for myself and those around me!
